The Government of New Hampshire
By: Hannah S.
A long time ago, the Indians lived in New Hampshire. Then, early colonists moved in, in the early 1600s. The year they became a colony was 1623, and it was founded by John Mason. They were soon ruled by the king in England, which means they where a royal colony, starting in 1679. After a while, England's King started giving the colonists taxes. They didn't like this, but they didn't know how to become their own colony. The government was a free for all, and nobody knew how to be independent. They decided to free from England and join the colonies. They soon adapted the colonial government(once they actually DECIDED on a government).
